Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Student Scholarship
The Louisiana Speech-Language Hearing Association (LSHA) is dedicated to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the field of speech-language pathology and audiology. As part of our commitment to promoting a more representative and inclusive profession, we are pleased to offer the LSHA DEI Student Scholarship. This scholarship aims to support students who demonstrate a dedication to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the field of communication sciences and disorders.
Qualifications:

Enrollment in a Communication Sciences and Disorders Program: Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in communication sciences and disorders at a university or college in Louisiana.
- Identification as a Member of an Underrepresented Population in Speech-Language Pathology: Applicants must identify as a member of an underrepresented population in the field of speech-language pathology, including but not limited to individuals from racial or ethnic minority groups, individuals with disabilities, or LGBTQ+ individuals.

Academic Achievement: Applicants should demonstrate strong academic performance in their communication sciences and disorders coursework.

Leadership and Engagement: Preference will be given to students who have shown leadership potential and a commitment to engaging with issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion through extracurricular activities, volunteer work, or professional development opportunities.
Award Amount and Deadline:
The LSHA DEI Student Scholarship will provide financial support to selected recipients. The award amount and number of scholarships may vary depending on available funding.
